Club-E-News: 23 April

Anzac Day - Club Representation - Sunday 25 April - 5.45am

This Sunday:

ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918).

As a result, one day in the year has involved the whole of Australia in solemn ceremonies of remembrance, gratitude and national pride for all our men and women who have fought and died in all wars. That day is ANZAC Day - 25 April.

This year the Glenelg SLSC will be laying a wreath at the ceremony to be held at Glenelg.
Come down and pay tribute to the men and women who have fought and died to protect us.

The Club will be open for breakfast afterwards.

Sunday Sessions

The Club has discussed have sessions on Sundays from 10am in Winter for members that want to do a bit of training and have a coffee afterwards.

While some have suggested a swim the thinking at this time is for a  run/walk/cycle depending on ability etc, go for approx 45 minutes and then have a coffee and a chat upstairs.

There is also thought about getting a name for this group if it gets up and running ie . “The Bay Polar Bears Club”

This has been handed to the Beach Committee to look at, however if anyone is interested in taking a leadership/coordinator role for this please let Peter Tidswell know. Please contact Peter Tidswell 0423 569 782.
